First… The Fun Stuff!

Cat and Dog Halloween Costumes

One of the best parts of Halloween is the costumes! We always enjoy seeing all the creative things that people come up with, and our favorites are always pet costumes. When it comes to choosing the right pet costume, the most important thing to remember is safety and comfort!

When putting your pet into any type of pet costume, you want to make sure that you don’t restrict their movement, and that they are comfortable and happy in the outfit of choice! Make sure to watch those pets carefully and at the first sign of discomfort take the costume off to ensure that your pet stays happy all night long!

It’s also a great idea to have healthy treats on hand to reward your pet for being a good sport during the Halloween festivities.

Most Importantly… Halloween Pet Safety!

While this holiday is fun-filled for the whole family, there are many potential dangers for your pet if you are not prepared. Here are a few things to consider:

With trick or treaters walking the streets, and the door opening and closing, it is important to keep your pet away from the door, so that they can not run out and get lost.

Even when everyone is very careful about opening and closing the door, accidents happen. In advance of the holiday, be sure that the ID tag on your pet’s collar is up to date! Microchipping is another important part of keeping your pet safe, so be sure your pet is chipped and that the information registered is accurate.

If you have a pet who is a bit skittish, keep them indoors as Halloween is filled with noises and knocks that your pet may not be used to. Make sure to give them some of their favorite things (we suggest a good bully stick to chew on!) and show them lots and lots of love!

To give you peace of mind, we’ve put together a complete guide of Pet Safety Tips for Halloween with even more information.
