In many cases, pumpkin and pumpkin puree can help dogs with constipation, diarrhea and digestion. Because of that and because it’s pumpkin season, we are providing you this tasty and healthy dog treat recipe!
- 1 cup pumpkin (canned)
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter (creamy)
- 0.5 cup oats (old fashioned)
- 2.5 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 eggs
- 0.5 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Start off by preheating your oven to 350 degrees (Fahrenheit). Grab a bowl and begin whisking together the flour, cinnamon, oats, and salt. In a larger bowl, whisk together the pumpkin, peanut butter, and eggs until fully combined together. Once completed, mix this with the first mixture using a spatula. Flour a surface and then commence rolling the dough until it is 0.5 inches thick. Cut the dough using a cutter into any creative shape you’d like before putting them on to a cookie sheet. Place the sheet into the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. When finished cooking, put the dog treats on a cooling rack and allow them to harden for two hours.
We hope your dog enjoys them! Feel free to leave us a comment and let us know what your pooch thought.
